overview
This project involved the transformation of several unused and dark storage spaces within Christie's historic London building into a modern, multi-purpose staff cafe. The core challenge was to reimagine these dormant, lower-ground-floor spaces into a welcoming and functional environment that would serve as a central hub for staff breaks and meetings.
My role was to lead the creative concepting and design, from initial ideas through to the final technical drawings and 3D models. The 3D modelling and rendering was a crucial part of the process, as it was the primary tool used to help key stakeholders, who struggled to visualise the concept from 2D plans, fully understand the project and secure their approval. The aesthetic was inspired by a New York loft, incorporating exposed brick and ducting, with all fixtures, fittings, and furniture carefully selected to create a cohesive and inviting space. The finished cafe has become a positive and functional addition to the building, fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration among the staff.
